So he took a one-year training course at the Indre Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which focused on IBM i, but also included PHP and Java. Adrien falls into the IBM i pot. It was the only state-funded IBMi course in France at the time – apart from those in Armonie.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Adrien then met Vincent Foulquier (Regional Manager for Central and Western France) and, above all, Guy Routier, who introduced him to his vision and plans for the IBMi world. He joins Armonie as an AS\/400 Analyst Developer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In terms of TMA (third-party application maintenance), Adrien corrects bugs identified by Armonie or reported by customers, or proposes improvements\/upgrades to existing programs. He also creates programs for new projects, such as webservices, data extraction, PHL and PHP implementation…<\/p>\n Requests can also come from customers asking for improvements.<\/p>\n In the case of modernization projects, such as webservices, Adrien writes the project specifications for a website or other software to develop interfaces with other technologies.<\/p>\n ” The advantage of IBM i is that there are a multitude of languages: PHP, Java, RPG, SQL, Python, Node, etc. The platform is becoming increasingly open over the years <\/em>,” explains Adrien.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n Coaching new talent<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to the various customers for whom he is responsible, Adrien coaches new recruits who have completed the 57-day Izi Academy on code, business understanding, business rules, accounting, sales…<\/p>\n And Adrien is no stranger to trades: ” I was a user of this kind of platform in the hotel business, and I lived through the 2000s and their evolution towards Windows platforms with keyboards and, above all, mice!
